Today I was told my DL was no good after I returned some windows and went and got the ones I wanted. The ones I returned had the discount but I did not get the discount on the new ones. I even showed him the receipt where I got the discount the day before. Was told too bad I D no good.

I’ll be shopping at Lowes from now on. I visited a Home Depot in Puerto Rico and bought a sink faucet. I was told that it didn’t qualify for the military discount as many other “construction” products. They were not sure if it was a local policy or why the system didn’t process the 10%. Yeah Home Depot is all over the place with their military discounts.

Yesterday at Home Depot I discovered that Romex Wire is also excluded from Military Discounts. On your sales receipts you will see a coded next to items that are military discounted; more and more items at Home Depot are being excluded. In most cases Lowes will price match and apply Military Discounts online or in store.
Home Depot Offers Veterans Discounts on Select Holidays

While he never actually served in the US Military, he has a passion for writing about military related topics. Many vets have sworn off Home Depot, and have decided to use Lowes for the purchases instead. It seems like it really depends on the local Home Depot you’re dealing with, and whether or not they’re going to be strict about any particular rules. In the past, you had to provide some sort of proof that you served or are actively serving.

I’ve decided to stop shopping at Homedepot – just fed up with the half-heart “we support our military” fake smile BS. I tried to upload my DD214, with SSN numbers blacked out, through my Home Depot account and it was rejected? Makes me wonder if Home Depot partner with a 3rd party to collect and profit from personal veteran data? Why now my military ID not good enough?

Guess I will be heading back to Lowes from now on. Follow the steps above to redeem the Home Depot military discount online. OMK recently learned that Home Depot has finally changed up their military discount policy.
Last few trips to HD have been a real hassle. I have shopped there for years and never had any trouble applying the 10 % military discount. When I was told they had changed their ID policy I registered on line but now you have to use a smart phone app at check out. I don’t have a smart phone and don’t want one so I am told at their service desk there is no way to get the discount. Apparently HD corporate has decided if they make the discount extremely hard to use that most retired vets will not use it.
I was amazed by two big flocks of geese. Watching them flying over the lake was a breathtaking spectacle. This website is using a security service to protect itself from online attacks. Chalk up another “No Veterans Discount at Home Depot, but no problem at Lowes” story. I went so far as to get the official VA ID card – for non-active dury, non-retired, non-disabled veterans. I had tried my DD-214 earlier.
To further support service member recruiting programs and partnerships, The Home Depot created a dedicated Military Relations team within the company. Since 2011, the Foundation has invested more than $350 million in veteran causes and improved more than 48,000 veteran homes and facilities in 4,500 cities. The Foundation has pledged to invest half of a billion dollars in veteran causes by 2025.
My father, a veteran and 15 year employee of Home Depot was treated like crap and just tossed aside as his age took its toll and caused him to retire. I am registered with Lowes, just give them my phone number and automatically get a 10 percent discount. Home Depot will not give me a discount…never will shop there again.
